1.Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Eous (the "Platform"), operated by Forged Lucidity ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Platform. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time, and your continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of any modifications. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the Platform or by email.

2.Description of Service

Eous is an AI-powered thinking companion built for deeper inquiry and reflection. The Platform uses artificial intelligence to facilitate conversations and generate responses that support your thinking process. Eous operates as a cooperative — not a corporation — meaning the people who use it are members, not customers. Revenue flows back to the community that creates value.

Eous is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice. The AI companion is a thinking tool — not a therapist, counselor, or advisor. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact emergency services or a crisis helpline immediately.

3.Eligibility

You must be at least 15 years of age to use Eous. Users under 18 require parental or guardian consent and co-signature. The parent or guardian becomes the contracting party; the minor retains full credit for any intellectual contributions. We are developing parental supervision features to support families who use the Platform together.

4.Account Registration

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. You agree to provide accurate information during registration. If you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account, notify us immediately. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that appear to be compromised.

5.Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Platform to: violate any applicable law or regulation; harass, abuse, threaten, or harm any person; generate or distribute content that exploits minors in any way; attempt to reverse-engineer, compromise, or circumvent any security feature of the Platform or its underlying AI systems; impersonate any person or entity; use the Platform for any purpose that is fraudulent, deceptive, or harmful; use automated means to access the Platform in ways that exceed reasonable use; or attempt to extract training data or model weights from the AI system.

6.Intellectual Property

Content you create through your interactions with Eous remains yours. The Eous platform — including its design, code, methodology, and brand assets — is the property of Forged Lucidity and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. By using the Platform, you grant us a limited license to process your content as necessary to provide the service. The cooperative membership structure governs shared intellectual property contributions separately.

7.AI-Generated Content

Eous uses artificial intelligence to facilitate inquiry and reflection. AI-generated responses are not professional advice — legal, medical, financial, or otherwise. You are responsible for decisions made based on interactions with the Platform. Responses may contain errors, inaccuracies, or incomplete information. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any AI-generated content. You should independently verify any information before relying on it for decisions affecting your health, finances, legal matters, or safety.

8.Privacy and Data

Your use of the Platform is governed by our Privacy Policy. We take your privacy seriously: we do not sell your personal data to third parties, we do not serve advertisements, and we do not use your conversations to train AI models. Your conversation data is processed to provide you with the service and to power your personal semantic memory system (the Gondola). See our Privacy Policy for complete details.

9.Membership and Payments

The Platform offers both free and paid membership tiers. Free tier access may be subject to usage limits. Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis according to the plan selected. You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days' notice. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.

10.Cooperative Structure

Eous operates under cooperative principles. 85–90% of revenue flows back to the members who create value — this is structural, not promotional. Membership in the cooperative, including voting rights and revenue sharing, is governed by the cooperative's bylaws and membership agreements, which are separate from these Terms of Service. Participation in the cooperative is voluntary and subject to additional terms.

11.Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Forged Lucidity shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim. The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

12.Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Forged Lucidity, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another person or entity.

13.Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately, but you may request an export of your data within 30 days. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and indemnification.

14.Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Maine, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Cumberland County, Maine. You consent to personal jurisdiction in these courts.
